The event will be the first to be broadcast on Fox as part of a seven year agreement between the UFC and the network and the second to air live on Fox after the inaugural UFC on Fox: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos.

A bout between Demetrious Johnson and Eddie Wineland was originally slated for this event. However, Johnson was pulled from the bout to be a participant in the UFC's Flyweight tournament set to begin in March. Wineland was then expected to face Johnny Bedford at this event. However, Wineland himself was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by promotional newcomer Mitch Gagnon.

Paul Sass was expected to face Evan Dunham, but was forced from the bout with an injury and replaced by Nik Lentz.

Cody McKenzie was expected to face Michael Johnson at the event, but was forced from the bout with an injury and replaced by Shane Roller.

Heavyweight bout: Pat Barry (6-4) vs. Christian Morecraft (7-2)
It’s safe to say that whenever Pat Barry fights, it’s going to be exciting. One things for sure though, and that’s Barry needs this win to stay in the UFC, Morecraft as well. Barry is coming off of two straight losses to Cheick Kongo and Stefan Struve while Morecraft was recently beat down by Matt Mitrione in a one-sided affair. Needless to say while Morecraft is more well-rounded in MMA, Barry always poses a threat when the fight is standing. Both men have the chance to win but the fight gameplan will have to be executed perfectly for either man to win.

The main event will see two top lightweight contenders looking to get back in the win column as Jim Miller will face off with Melvin Guillard. This will only be a three-round fight, despite Dana White stating last year that all main events will be five rounds. The prelims will be aired on Fuel after all. There have been many last-minute changes to this card, but here's how it looks right now (prelims are after the jump):
